Blue Lagoon Insurance Services, LLC is committed to making blisins.com accessible to all users, including people with disabilities.

Our Target Standard

We are building this site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 AA is the current standard recognized by accessibility practitioners and referenced by U.S. accessibility law.

WCAG 2.2 AA includes requirements for:

• Sufficient color contrast for text and interactive elements
• Keyboard navigation for all interactive controls (menus, forms, modals, accordions)
• Screen reader compatibility using semantic HTML and ARIA labels where appropriate
• Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements
• Captions and text alternatives for non-text content
• Accessible forms with clear labels, error messages, and input guidance
• Support for users who prefer reduced motion

What We Have Done

This site is being built with accessibility as a core requirement, not an afterthought:

• Semantic HTML structure with correct heading hierarchy
• Keyboard-accessible navigation, including a “Skip to main content” link
• A focus-visible ring on all interactive elements
• Mobile navigation with a focus trap and Escape-to-close behavior
• Forms with visible labels, inline error messages, and step-transition announcements
• Cookie consent controls that are fully keyboard and screen-reader operable
• Animations that respect the prefers-reduced-motion user preference
• Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative images marked appropriately
• No accessibility overlays or third-party “accessibility widgets” — only real code

Known Limitations

We test this site against WCAG 2.2 AA and are not aware of any significant accessibility barriers at this time. Keyboard navigation, focus management, and screen-reader labeling are verified across the site, and all motion respects the prefers-reduced-motion preference.

Accessibility is ongoing work. Some third-party content and future additions may not yet meet our standard. If you find a barrier, tell us using the contact below and we will address it.

Browser and Assistive Technology Support

We test with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and NVDA on Windows. We aim for compatibility with any standards-compliant assistive technology.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or other relevant authorities regarding accessibility complaints.
